Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Social Justice at the University of Waterloo examines how gender, diversity, equality, and social justice shape society, developing expertise in analyzing structures of inequity and advocating for change. Students choose gender and social justice as their major at the end of first year, after an initial year of exploratory arts coursework, and build a program combining core courses in the field with electives selected from other subject areas across the university. The program is offered in both a regular format and a co-op format; co-op students alternate between academic study terms and paid work terms as part of Waterloo's co-op system. Graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Social Justice.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission is based on an admission average, typically in the high 70s for both the regular and co-op streams. Ontario applicants require six Grade 12 U and/or M courses, including Grade 12 U English, with a minimum final grade of at least 70%.
