BA/BS in Life Sciences

Life Sciences is an undergraduate program at the University of Waterloo leading to a Bachelor of Science in a chosen major of Biochemistry, Biology, or Psychology, within the Faculty of Science. The curriculum covers the study of living organisms, ranging from microbiology and genetics at the cellular scale to the physiology and zoology of larger organisms, combining biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics to examine how living systems work and interact. Laboratory work and experiments begin in first year and continue throughout the degree. Students enter through the shared Life Sciences route before declaring one of the three majors, and the program is available in both co-op and regular (non-co-op) formats, with co-op students alternating academic terms with paid work terms.
