Overview
The Major Concentration in World Religions offers a broad introduction to the study of the world's major religions, with room to pursue specific areas of interest, and develops methods for comparative approaches to the academic study of religion. A corresponding Minor Concentration is also offered, introducing students to the major world religions and to the discipline more broadly. Sample courses include Catholic Intellectual Traditions, Muslim Societies, Religion of Ancient Israel, and Hinduism and Buddhism. The concentration is offered within the Faculty of Arts and can be paired with complementary minors such as Philosophy, History, Anthropology, and English: Cultural Studies. Graduates pursue paths including research, teaching, international development work, political risk analysis, and public affairs.
Requirements
