The Master of Science (MSc) in Immunology, offered by the University of Toronto's Department of Immunology, is offered in two fields: the non-thesis Applied Immunology field, providing advanced training in designing, implementing and evaluating immunological techniques that measure immune responses, and the thesis-based Fundamental Immunology field, emphasizing original scientific research. The Applied Immunology field requires 7.0 full-course equivalents across two years, including required immunology courses, a summer research-methods sequence, and elective courses selected from immunology and related life-science departments. The program is delivered in person, normally completed in 6 sessions full-time, within a 3-year full-time time limit; an Advanced-Standing option for University of Toronto Immunology graduates can be completed in 4 sessions. Admission requires an appropriate BSc or equivalent, normally with at least a B+ average and a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. The Applied Immunology field is not currently accepting international students.
