Overview
The Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering (Water) at the University of Waterloo is a research-based graduate program focused on global water challenges within civil engineering. Students pursue independent thesis research in one of environmental and water resources engineering, geotechnical engineering, structures, mechanics and construction engineering, or transportation engineering, and complete two interdisciplinary courses combining in-class lectures, fieldwork, group work, and individual research seminars centred on water issues. The program is delivered on the Waterloo campus and is designed to be completed in 24 months of full-time study, with admission available in the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. It prepares graduates for further research at the doctoral level or for careers addressing water-related challenges in the public sector or private industry, supported by Waterloo's civil engineering research groups.
