Overview
The Master of Climate Change at the University of Waterloo provides advanced training in climate change science, vulnerability and adaptation, and mitigation. Students build skills in research execution, collaborative problem-solving, and written and oral communication, and learn to interpret and evaluate climate change research and policy. The program is open to graduates of humanities, social science, health, engineering, science, or business disciplines, is delivered on the Waterloo campus, and offers a full-time option designed to be completed in 12 months as well as part-time options. Admission is in the Fall term. Students may transfer into the Master of Climate Change - Internship stream after completing at least one academic term, adding a work-integrated component to the degree. The program suits graduates from a range of academic backgrounds who want to apply research and analytical skills to climate change science and policy.

Admission Requirements: A four-year honours bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a humanities, social science, health, engineering, science, or business discipline, with an overall average of at least 75% in the final 20 courses or last two years of study, is required. Applicants whose prior education was not in English must meet Waterloo's graduate English proficiency requirement, typically demonstrated with TOEFL iBT 5 overall (5 in writing and speaking) or IELTS Academic 7.5 overall (7.0 in writing and speaking).
