Overview

Climate and Environmental Change at the University of Waterloo leads to a Bachelor of Science in Climate and Environmental Change, at the undergraduate level, offered as both a co-op and a regular program within the Faculty of Environment. The curriculum combines biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science with human geography to address climate and environmental challenges, teaching practical tools such as computer modelling alongside hands-on laboratory and fieldwork experience. Co-op students begin their first work term in the winter of second year, alternating study and work terms through to graduation. Graduates are prepared for careers and further study in climate science, environmental consulting, environmental policy, and related fields that combine physical science with an understanding of human and environmental systems.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Ontario high school into the Faculty of Environment. Required: six Grade 12 U/M courses including English (ENG4U) and any Grade 12 U Mathematics, each with a minimum final grade of 70%, plus Chemistry or Physics; Biology, Earth and Space Science, or World Issues are recommended. Admission is competitive, with an expected admission range in the high 70s.
