The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) is a four-year Honours program in the School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, at the University of Windsor, with a co-op stream available. The program is built around the practical, applied side of computing, covering basic hardware concepts alongside software development, programming, data management systems, web and mobile application development, customer service systems, and networking. Students can pursue specializations, including artificial intelligence and software engineering, within the broader information-technology curriculum. The program responds to industry demand for IT professionals who combine foundational technical knowledge with hands-on development experience, rather than a purely theoretical computer science background. Graduates are prepared for roles across software development, systems administration, and applied IT fields that draw on practical, cross-functional technology skills built through the program's coursework.
