General Science / Concurrent Education lets students complete a Bachelor of Science while simultaneously working toward teacher certification, graduating with two degrees. The curriculum combines science coursework, built around a required set of math and science prerequisites, with education courses and field placements, including roughly 80 days of supervised teaching experience in local schools. On completion, graduates hold both a BSc and the qualifications needed to teach at the intermediate/senior level (grades 7 to 12) in Ontario. Admission is to first year only, so students must apply directly into the concurrent stream rather than transferring in later. Selection is based on a required set of Grade 12 courses — Advanced Functions, two of Chemistry, Biology or Physics, and English — with Calculus & Vectors strongly recommended, and a minimum overall average built from science and math grades. The university reports that 98.8% of graduates are employed within two years of finishing the programme.
