History / Concurrent Education combines a Bachelor's degree in History with teacher certification, graduating students with two degrees and the qualifications to teach grades 7 to 12 in Ontario, completed in four years. The programme covers historical topics from local to global contexts alongside education coursework, and includes roughly 80 days of supervised teaching experience in local schools. Admission is to first year only. A co-operative education (co-op) option is available for students who want to combine coursework with paid work terms; the co-op stream carries a higher admission average requirement than the direct-entry programme. The programme is administered jointly by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education, and prepares graduates for classroom teaching careers alongside subject-area expertise in History.
