The Master of Arts in History at the University of Windsor combines an intensive program of historical research with study of contemporary approaches to historical interpretation. Students develop skills in historical research, writing, and analysis, choosing from twelve specialization areas that include local history, social history, cultural history, labour history, Black history, and the history of medicine. Applicants submit a statement of purpose and a writing sample as part of the admission process. The program admits students for Fall and Winter intakes. It prepares graduates for doctoral studies in history or related humanities disciplines, as well as careers in fields where historical research and analytical writing skills are valued, including archival work, public history, museum and heritage work, education, and policy research.
