Overview
The Nail Technology certificate provides learning in the latest advanced hand, foot, and nail treatments including tips, overlays, sculptured, gel, and acrylics. With practical training in a fully equipped public and training spa students will gain work experience and opportunities to practice knowledge and skills learned.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires English knowledge shown by either VCC's own English Language Proficiency standard at a Grade 10 level or equivalent, or by an Academic IELTS score of 5.5 overall with no band below 5.0, or a TOEFL iBT score of 68. Applicants who already hold an Esthetics and Spa Therapy Certificate or equivalent, completed within the last five years, can receive credit for the first course (ESTH 1501) and enter directly into ESTH 1502 on proof of graduation. Applicants who do not meet the stated requirements may still be admitted after an interview with the department leader or a representative. General VCC conditions also apply: Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, age 16 or older or secondary-school graduation (with some exceptions), and submission of official transcripts, with seats offered non-competitively in the order applications are completed.
