Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is by competitive selection. The stated requirements are Grade 12 graduation or an equivalent, English 10 or an equivalent (or English language proficiency at a Grade 10 level), and a minimum age of 18 — a department head may in special circumstances admit a 17-year-old who has graduated from Grade 12. You must also pass an audition before the admissions committee chaired by the Artistic Director, Dance at Arts Umbrella, and complete a successful interview with that Artistic Director. Any request for transfer credit or a course exemption has to be submitted with the application. The programme sets its own deadline of 15 April, with auditions held in the first two weeks of May and results issued before the end of May, and applications must be complete with all requirements met by that date. A number of seats are held for graduating Arts Umbrella preparatory students, who have their own route to qualify for direct entry. VCC states this programme is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents and directs international students to VCC International, which lists separately the programmes open to them.
