Overview
Honours Specialization in Foods and Nutrition is an undergraduate program in Western University's Faculty of Health Sciences, leading to an Honours Bachelor's degree. The module totals 9.0 courses, including a course selected from designated Foods and Nutrition options, 1.5 courses in nutrition and food science, a course in applied foods and nutrition, Human Ecology 2222A/B, selected chemistry and biochemistry courses, and 4.0 additional upper-level electives drawn from Foods and Nutrition or Human Ecology. The curriculum combines the chemistry and physiology of nutrition with applied food science, preparing graduates for further study or careers in fields such as dietetics, food science, nutrition research, and public health. The program was transferred to Western from Brescia University College effective May 1, 2024.
