Overview
The Master of Professional Education (MPEd) at Western University is a graduate degree for practising professionals who want to advance their careers through applied research and leadership training. Students develop critical thinking and decision-making skills and learn to apply research to workplace problems within a chosen field, which include Applied Behaviour Analysis, Curriculum and Pedagogy, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Equity/Diversity/Social Justice, French Education, Global and International Education, International School Leadership, Leadership in Indigenous Education, Literacy Education, Mathematics Education, TESOL, and Teaching Students with Exceptionalities. Program length varies by field: three terms for TESOL and six terms for all other fields. Coursework is delivered fully online, except for the TESOL field. Completion of the degree does not lead to certification with the Ontario College of Teachers. Admission requires a four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum 'B' standing (70%) in the final two years of study; Applied Behaviour Analysis applicants must also have a background in psychology.

Admission Requirements: Applicants require a four-year undergraduate degree (20 full courses or equivalent) from a recognized university or college, with a minimum 'B' standing (70%) or equivalent in the final two years of study. Applicants with three-year degrees are considered case-by-case if seats are available. Applied Behaviour Analysis applicants must have a background in psychology. Non-native English speakers must meet Western's English proficiency requirement, such as a TOEFL iBT score of 86 (or 4.5 on the new scale), an IELTS Academic score of 6.5, a CAEL score of 60, or a Duolingo English Test score of 115.
