The Master of Engineering in Nuclear Engineering Design is offered through the University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE), a partnership among five Ontario universities, with emphasis on nuclear power reactor technology. The program is course-based and delivered part-time over roughly five years (15 terms), aimed primarily at working professionals in the nuclear industry; where feasible, courses are presented at nuclear industry sites and classes are offered on weekends to accommodate students' work schedules. The curriculum is designed with input from, and to enhance the educational materials of, partner industry firms. Admission is intended for applicants who currently live and work in Southwestern Ontario; international applicants are considered only after relocating to the area. The program accepts applications on a continuing (rolling) basis rather than a fixed annual deadline. Graduates gain advanced, industry-oriented training in nuclear engineering design while remaining employed in the sector.
