BA/BS in Kinesiology (BKin)

This four-year Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) at Wilfrid Laurier University is delivered in person on the Waterloo campus. The curriculum examines human movement, exercise, and sport through natural science, social science, and health perspectives, opening with first-year courses in fundamental movement skills, motor learning, sport psychology, and active living, and extending in later years into biomechanics, exercise nutrition, aging and physical activity, adapted physical activity, and injury psychology. After second year, students choose among three specialization streams: Foundational Kinesiology, Integrative Human Movement Science, or Applied Sport and Physical Activity. The degree can be paired with a management or teaching minor, the latter offering a route toward a Bachelor of Education, along with other minor options such as leadership, biology, or psychology. Co-op is optional, open to students who apply after first year for work terms of twelve to sixteen weeks. Anatomy courses include hands-on lab work, and students can take part in community volunteer opportunities tied to a campus health centre. The program suits students aiming toward health, fitness, rehabilitation, sport management, or further study in fields such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or chiropractic care.
