Overview
The Graduate Diploma in Business and the Environment is jointly offered by the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change and the Erivan K. Haub Program at the Schulich School of Business, York University. It provides perspectives, tools, skills, and formal recognition for York Master's students to develop leadership capacity in business and environmental sustainability. The diploma is completed concurrently with a Master of Environmental Studies (MES) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and includes a 12-week internship or placement with an organization or agency focused on business and the environment. The program combines academic coursework from both faculties with applied, work-integrated learning, giving students practical experience in bridging environmental and business practice ahead of graduation. Enrolment is limited to students already admitted to the MES or MBA program who add the diploma alongside their primary degree rather than applying to it as a stand-alone credential.
