This Post-Master's Diploma is for Registered Nurses who already hold a Master's degree or PhD in a health-related field and have at least two years of full-time-equivalent practice experience. The program prepares students to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario and requires completion of seven NP courses: two are offered online synchronously, five require seminar attendance at York, and five require clinical placements held in the Greater Toronto Area, with attendance mandatory for both seminars and clinical placements. Full-time students complete the program in three consecutive semesters, and part-time students in six consecutive semesters. Graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Exam. Advanced standing credit is not given for nurse practitioner courses completed previously, and the program does not accept transfer students.
