Overview

The Graduate Diploma in Accounting Analytics (GDAN) is an eight-month, part-time, online program for accounting professionals who want to build skills in data analytics and visualization. The curriculum covers the accounting data management value chain, giving students a foundation in analytics tools and techniques applied to accounting and financial data. As a graduate diploma, it is open to students already enrolled in a relevant graduate program as well as to those with a general interest in graduate-level study in this area. The online, part-time format allows students to complete the diploma alongside other professional or academic commitments. The program is offered through York University's Schulich School of Business and is positioned as one of the first programs of its kind in Canada focused specifically on the intersection of accounting and data analytics.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a 3- or 4-year undergraduate degree recognized by York University with a B- average or better, in an accounting major/specialization or with an accounting designation, and normally 2 to 4 years of post-degree work experience in the accounting industry (exceptional candidates without this experience may still be considered). The GMAT and GRE are not required. Applicants whose prior education was not in English must demonstrate English proficiency (for example IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with no band below 6.5, or TOEFL iBT 100 with no section below 23); applicants with at least two years of full-time study at an English-language university are exempt.
