Program details

Overview

This program leads to a Master of Accounting (MAcc) offered by the Schulich School of Business at the Keele Campus on a full-time basis, using the Schulich Accounting Case Method. Students study accounting functions and decision-making within legal, financial, regulatory and ethical frameworks, with the curriculum structured to fast-track graduates through CPA Ontario's Professional Education Program. Entry follows one of three routes: business graduates begin the 16-month standard program in May; Schulich BBA/iBBA graduates may start in summer under Advanced Standing; and non-business graduates first complete the Diploma in Intermediate Accounting, beginning in the summer term, before proceeding into the MAcc. An Advanced Standing option runs 12 months with a September start, and an Accelerated option runs 8 months. The program suits graduates seeking a fast-tracked path into professional accountancy and CPA certification, whether entering directly from a business degree or completing prerequisite coursework through the diploma route.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: A minimum B average in the last two full years (or equivalent) of academic work is required, along with a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution (or equivalent) that includes undergraduate-level Economics (Micro & Macro), Statistics, and Corporate Finance or Canadian Business Law. Applicants must submit a GMAT or GRE score, waived for graduates of Canadian universities within the last five years. Non-business graduates must first complete the Diploma in Intermediate Accounting before proceeding into the MAcc. Unless exempt, applicants must meet Schulich's English proficiency minimums: IELTS Academic 7.0 overall (minimum 6.5 on each band) or TOEFL iBT 100 (minimum 23 on each section), for tests taken before January 21, 2026.
