Arts Education is a two-year, 120 ECTS master's programme from the Department of Arts Education, leading to an MA or MT degree. It is meant for people who have completed a bachelor's degree in an art subject or another field and want to train as teachers while building skills and a theoretical foundation for sharing their knowledge in different settings.
Coursework draws on teaching, pedagogy and psychology, philosophy and sociology, alongside practical training in teaching and communicating art subjects and projects, both inside the school system and outside it. Students gain a theoretical and practical understanding of the teacher's work and learn to plan learning and course components in line with current curricula.
The programme runs over four semesters. Its stated aim is to educate people for teaching and to strengthen their ability to share their knowledge in varied settings, with weight placed on a practical understanding of the teaching profession.
