Overview

International Affairs is a full-time MA programme of 120 ECTS credits that lasts two years at the University of Iceland. Students complete 90 credits in courses and write a thesis that counts for the remaining 30 credits. The programme grew out of the expansion in recent years of international affairs and of the work of international organisations and associations. It is meant to meet the need for well-educated staff who understand world affairs, in business, interest groups, public bodies or local government. Teaching stresses where Iceland and other small states stand within the international system, and how they conduct foreign relations. Students can choose among many electives, including internships. The page links to the programme structure, timetables, the application and the internship arrangements.
