The academic master's programme Art is taught at the Art Academy of Latvia and leads to a master's degree in humanities, specifically visual arts. Studies last two years, are full-time and are held in person, with the central building on Kalpaka boulevard and a study centre on Kronvalda boulevard as the places of study.
At present the programme runs only in state-funded budget places and in the Latvian language, with admission decided by a competition based on results. Students may use Erasmus+ study and traineeship opportunities at more than 100 art universities across Europe.
Specialisations are grouped under visual arts, visual and plastic arts, audiovisual media arts, design and art history, and students can take part in local and international events, academy workshops led by professionals, and courses at partner universities in Latvia and abroad. Accreditation was granted in January 2024 for six years.
