International Finance and Economics is a master's programme at the Baltic International Academy, taught within the economics study direction. It aims to educate qualified specialists with advanced theoretical knowledge and with analytical and research skills in finance and economics, matching the seventh level of the Latvian education framework, so that they can work in conditions of sustainable economic development.
The programme sets out several tasks. It provides a body of knowledge, skills and competence in finance at that level, and offers in-depth theory on monetary and financial management, the sustainable economy, the development of financial technology, and the carrying out of innovative policy in national and global settings, along with related fields.
It also develops research competence, innovative thinking and creative working skills, and strengthens students' ability to formulate problems analytically and take objective decisions. The economics direction is accredited by the Study Quality Commission.
