MA/MS in Grāmatvedība un audits

Accounting and Audit is an academic master's programme at the University of Latvia, taught in Latvian and studied full time in central Riga. It lasts four semesters, carries 120 ECTS credits and leads to a Master of Social Sciences degree in accounting and taxation. The curriculum covers the main areas of accounting and auditing and aims to prepare specialists who can work in Latvian and international companies with strong academic and advanced professional competence. Core subjects include international financial reporting standards, international standards on auditing, internal audit, international taxation, management accounting and microeconomic analysis. Students also choose elective courses, and practical placements form part of the study plan. Applicants are admitted to a limited number of state-funded and fee-paying places, and the fee level differs for citizens of the European Union and of other countries.
