BA/BS in Economics

Ekonomika is an academic bachelor's programme in economics at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, taught in Jelgava. Full-time study takes 4 years in 8 semesters, and a part-time route of 4 years and 6 months in 9 semesters is also offered. Graduates receive a bachelor's degree in economics, and the programme includes a work placement. Students choose among specialisation directions: business process management, accounting and finance, and sustainable economics and territorial development. The page describes economics as a link between present-day decisions and future opportunities, at a time when resource depletion, circular thinking and the climate crisis shape the agenda. The programme argues that economics helps people understand the world and design sensible solutions, from everyday financial choices to sustainable development.
