MA/MS in Chemistry

Chemistry is an academic master's programme at the University of Latvia, taught in English in Riga. Full-time study lasts four semesters and amounts to 120 ECTS credits. Graduates receive a Master of Natural Sciences degree in chemistry. The programme offers higher academic education in chemistry as one of the fundamental natural sciences. It is meant for students who want to become highly skilled chemists and compete in the labour market, or who plan to continue to doctoral studies. Its aim is to give students deeper theoretical knowledge and competence in the main core branches of chemistry and in one chosen sub-field, and to develop and refine their scientific work skills. According to the page, graduates receive a diploma recognised in Europe, with a note that the programme has been awarded a label by a commission of the association of the European Chemistry Thematic Network. For 2026/2027 only fee-paying places are listed.
