MA/MS in Ģeoloģija

The Geology master's programme at the University of Latvia is an academic course delivered full time on campus in Riga and taught in Latvian. It lasts four semesters, carries 120 ECTS credits and leads to a Master of Natural Sciences degree in Earth sciences. The programme provides modern theoretical and methodological knowledge in geological subfields such as Quaternary geology and geomorphology, applied geology and bedrock geology. It develops research skills and lets students take part in events organised by two doctoral schools, one on Earth resources and their sustainable use and one on animal diversity and environmental quality. Practical skills are strengthened through an applied geology course, which students can complete at a company or organisation working in a geological field.
