This programme trains art practitioners in animation to reflect critically on art theory while creating culturally and socially relevant animated projects, choosing styles and technical innovations and applying visual and narrative approaches to reach their creative goals. Learning outcomes include evaluating contemporary trends in Lithuanian and international audiovisual art, film, and animation, situating creative work within a wider socio-cultural context, integrating research and data from different art and science fields into animated projects, and mastering the technical aspects and production pipeline of animation, including hand-drawn and technically diverse approaches. Students also learn to present finished work to varied audiences and discuss its content professionally and publicly. The curriculum includes script writing for animation, animation laboratories, animation theory, direction and production of an animated project, and an international collaborative workshop, with electives such as stop-motion animation, documentary animation, and content creation for virtual and augmented reality. Teaching combines seminars, workshops, internships, and consultation, assessed through reviews and examinations.
