Overview
This master's programme educates visual-communication design specialists to international standards, training them to transmit verbal and visual information through new media within interdisciplinary design, to carry out artistic research, and to critically evaluate and interpret design phenomena in local and international cultural contexts. Learning outcomes include generating and applying current visual-communication design knowledge to creative and scientific work, independently carrying out artistic design research using advanced methods and interpreting the results in pursuit of strategic communication goals, and assessing the needs of society while searching for innovative solutions within a perspective of sustainable development. Students also develop skills in presenting creative ideas and discussing them professionally and publicly in Lithuanian and foreign languages, working in and leading interdisciplinary teams, and collaborating with clients, colleagues and the media while upholding social justice, equal opportunity and professional ethics. Teaching is delivered through lectures, workshops and self-study, and graduates are described as prepared to continue into doctoral design studies or work in design education.
