This programme prepares forestry bachelors with the theoretical knowledge and critical thinking needed for the sustainable, multi-purpose growing, protection, and use of forests, along with the administration, management, and planning skills to apply that knowledge under changing environmental conditions. Learning outcomes include evaluating how forest-growing technologies affect forest ecosystems, identifying forest plants, fungi, insects, and protected or game species, accounting for forest and wood resources, collecting and statistically analysing research data, applying GIS and other technologies to resource planning, and selecting management approaches that balance natural vegetation with social and economic needs. Students also learn to plan timber harvesting sustainably and to run private or state forest enterprises amid shifting policy and market conditions. The 177-credit major field includes higher mathematics and probability, plant biology, ecology, dendrology, soil science, geomatics, and forest genetics, taught through lectures, laboratory work, and workplace practice, assessed through a final exam, coursework, and presentations. Later on, students deepen their knowledge in branches such as forest growing, recreational forestry, wildlife management, or wood science.
