LLM (General)

This LLM broadens understanding of law as an academic discipline, suited to careers across government, non-governmental organisations, international consultancy, think-tanks, and legal practice. Students deepen their grasp of legal processes, methodologies, and the societal and political contexts in which law operates, alongside theoretical perspectives on legal study. The full-time route runs across one year and 180 credits, combining one core module with five optional modules across the first two terms before a dissertation in the third term; the part-time route spans two years on the same structure, spread across four taught terms. Core study includes legal research skills, covering citation, case analysis, and literature review, culminating in an extended dissertation. Offered at the Mauritius campus, the degree builds advanced critical and research skills across legal, economic, and ethical questions.
