Overview

The University of Mauritius delivers this three-year full-time bachelor's degree together with CY Cergy Paris Université in France. It trains data scientists to extract insight from data, drawing on mathematics, statistics, computing and wider domain knowledge. Students learn to build algorithms that process data, to visualise and analyse it, and to apply conventional statistical tools as well as machine learning techniques. The programme also includes introductory courses in areas of application such as mathematics, statistics and physics. Applicants need two or more GCE A Level passes, one being Mathematics; French high-school applicants should have followed Stream S for Science. The degree carries 192 NCVTS/ECTS credits, including a 9-credit internship and an 18-credit final-year project, and offers no exit awards at a lower level.

Admission Requirements: The University of Mauritius general entry requirements for undergraduate degrees apply. Programme requirement: at least two GCE A Level passes including Mathematics. French high-school applicants need Stream S for Science. An equivalent qualification acceptable to the university is also accepted.
