Blockchain technology is expected to lay new foundations for the national and international economy, and this master's programme aims to bring that change to Mauritius by training specialists locally. It was created jointly by the technology and engineering school and the business, management and finance school, with industry members helping to shape the content.
Students gain core knowledge of blockchain and a range of marketable skills, study the architecture and the parts that make it run, and learn the legal issues involved at home and abroad. The course builds enough programming ability to develop blockchain-based solutions and links students to professionals, developers and incubators active in the local ecosystem.
Careers include blockchain programmer, developer, team leader and system administrator, as well as positions in law firms and crypto businesses. Study takes two years part-time.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: An honours degree from a recognised university, an approved equivalent professional qualification, or an ordinary degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience; plus a degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics field, or equivalent, with significant programming knowledge acceptable to the University.
