This master's programme prepares students to take on duties in the management of tourism properties and resorts. It was designed because many tourism destinations are broadening their product range, and managing resorts and properties is viewed as one workable route, which creates demand for qualified managers.
Modules include financial and managerial accounting, project management, research methods, tourism property development, estate management, property maintenance, operations management for resorts, and international tourism marketing, with a dissertation to finish.
It aims to strengthen existing managerial skills and to build the strategic and decision-making abilities needed for middle-management roles, while also training junior staff and mid-level managers. It also develops a grounding in postgraduate research practice and equips students to assist decision makers in planning and running resorts and properties. Study takes two years.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: A bachelor degree from a recognised university or other recognised higher education institution. Exceptionally, holders of a relevant diploma from a recognised institution may be admitted if they have at least 5 years of relevant professional work experience.
