MA/MS in Science and Technology of Nuclear Fusion

The programme addresses the technical challenges of nuclear fusion research, including managing fusion plasma at temperatures past 100 million degrees, the design and operation of superconducting magnets, resistance to high power loads and radiation exposure, and the running of some of the most complex experimental machines built to date. Coursework draws together physics, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, directed toward the practical demands of fusion research and technology development, combined with experience working in international, interdisciplinary teams and attention to the societal and ethical dimensions of fusion energy.
