Bachelor of Law

Sohar University's law degree is a four-year, full-time undergraduate programme taught in Arabic. It carries 66 credit units, which equal 124 credit hours. Study goes beyond lectures. The faculty has its own moot court where students practise simulated hearings, and groups visit working courts to watch real cases. The aims are to give graduates legal qualifications for administrative, economic and social careers, to build analytical skills for solving legal problems, and to ground them in the legal theory behind modern commercial transactions and Omani legislation. Graduates qualify to practise law and can also work in compliance, insurance, retail, media and publishing, or in advisory and policy roles in the public and private sectors. The listed entry requirements are an equivalent qualification to the general education diploma, with 50% in every subject, and the page gives the total programme fee.
