UDST's Adv. Dip. TNET is a three-year qualification covering telecommunications and network engineering, for students who want a deeper technical grounding in telecoms and networking than the standard diploma provides. The curriculum covers installing, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting the systems that keep telecommunications and data networks running, building on the fundamentals taught at diploma level.
Students work extensively in on-campus laboratories and workshops, practising on networking and telecommunications equipment under supervision so that the skills they graduate with transfer directly to a technical role in the industry. The programme leans toward this kind of applied practice rather than purely theoretical study.
Entrants can come straight from secondary school, provided they meet the mathematics and science requirements, or progress from the related two-year diploma in telecommunications and network engineering technology, for which this qualification is the natural next step.
