This two-year master's builds advanced expertise across four areas that define modern telecommunications work: communications engineering, digital signal processing, network security, and the newer technologies reshaping the industry. The curriculum moves from foundations such as research methods, machine learning and wireless communications toward specialised topics including cloud data centres, industrial digitalisation and telecom policy.
A two-stage thesis lets students tackle a real research problem in depth, and the program is designed to prepare graduates equally for academic research, industry roles in network design and regulatory compliance, or launching their own telecom-related ventures. Pairing classic telecommunications engineering with newer topics such as cloud infrastructure and industrial digitalisation is meant to keep graduates relevant as the sector shifts away from traditional fixed-network work toward data-driven, cloud-connected systems that touch far more industries than telecoms alone.
