Master of Professional Accounting

The Master of Professional Accounting is a graduate programme at SMU for people who want to enter or advance in accountancy, whether in professional services firms or in the accounting function of companies across industries. It also suits those whose roles are widening and who need accounting knowledge. The degree gives an accelerated path towards Chartered Accountant and Certified Public Accountant qualifications and carries recognition from nine regulatory, professional and academic bodies. Study is available full-time over 18 months, which can be shortened to 12 months, or part-time over 24 months. Applicants need a good bachelor's degree with enough mathematics or calculus, and they submit an SMU Admissions Test, GMAT or GRE result. The page reports that more than 80% of graduates from 2025 were employed within six months of finishing.
