This research degree sits in our vision and hearing science department and focuses on translational work in hearing loss management. Projects take a public health view of hearing loss and often combine several disciplines, so candidates can design research that links clinical practice with wider population concerns.
Supervision covers a broad set of PhD topics, and candidates receive their own workspace, regular contact with academic staff and a peer group of research students. Training modules build professional and research skills, and students can present at departmental meetings and scientific conferences. Study is offered full-time or part-time, and students who begin with an MPhil may progress to a PhD.
