Program details

Overview

This postgraduate diploma develops specialist practitioners in health and justice nursing, grounding learning in the context in which people in justice settings receive care. The course provides a framework for applying professional standards to everyday practice. Students gain an academic award alongside two professional awards, including non-medical prescribing that enables independent prescribing within their scope of practice. The content was shaped in consultation with local employers, professional bodies, service users and carers. Study is offered full-time and part-time, giving registered nurses a route into specialist practice in a demanding clinical field where prescribing skills and team leadership are central.
