BA/BS in Environmental/Natural Resources Management and Policy

Natural Resource Management is a bachelor's degree for students who want to protect the environment, whether through forestry, rangelands, wildlife or habitat work. The degree plan spans soil science, plant identification and forage production, then moves into big game ecology, range improvement and wildlife management. Practical experience comes from fieldwork in range and wildlife management at the university ranch. That fieldwork is meant to prepare graduates for careers in conservation, ecology, wildlife biology and range management. Graduates often become county extension agents in Texas or join the state parks and wildlife agency, and a federal conservation service lists the university as a preferred source of new hires. The program page provides a degree plan, a sample four-year plan and course descriptions in range and wildlife management.
