BA/BS in Environmental Design

Environmental design at Auburn is a flexible, interdisciplinary bachelor of science that merges sustainability, drawn from local and global contexts, with design thinking and an understanding of building systems. Students take environmental design courses, directed electives chosen within the design college and a generous block of free electives. Because so many electives are open, students can earn a minor and shape their own course of study. The workshop sequence requires coursework during two summer terms, and a professional fee applies. Total hours run between 120 and 121. The degree works well as a springboard to graduate study in design, planning and construction, and it also qualifies graduates for jobs in many other fields. Students aiming for landscape architecture can continue into the master's program.
