BA/BS in Interior Architecture

This combined major joins architecture and interior architecture, building on a curriculum Auburn has offered since 1907. Using the Foundation Unit approach, design studios start in the very first semester of the freshman year rather than later. Seats in the professional program are limited. Applicants usually begin as pre-architecture students and then compete for placement, either through the Foundation Unit or through a Summer Design Program that relocates studios to the break between the first and second years. Admission standards are published beneath the curriculum model. The freshman year already blends studio design, careers in design and construction, visual communication, digital media, physics and composition. Students should expect a professional fee, and the program notes that architecture majors may not use a particular arts course toward their core fine arts requirement.
