MA/MS in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication

This master's degree was created to ready students for working life in public relations and for possible doctoral study. The program dates from the late 1940s as the first university-based public relations degree in the world, and its graduates hold varied communication roles. Students build a scholarly and advanced sense of written and oral communication effectiveness. The core covers financial and strategic management, contemporary practice, media writing, research methods and media relations, with either PRLab or an internship. The rest of the degree is made up of electives, and all students must pass a faculty review of their online final presentation of work. The program page sets out course requirements and learning outcomes in detail, and applicants are pointed to the school's own site for contact and admissions questions.
