Program details

Overview

The Master of Science in Exercise Physiology is a clinically oriented graduate program that emphasizes hands-on practice. Students train in a campus rehabilitation clinic and learn from faculty experienced in cancer and chronic disease rehabilitation. The curriculum covers the physiological basis of human movement and how prescriptive exercise helps patients with cardiac, cancer and metabolic conditions. A research component lays groundwork for doctoral study or a research career. Clinical education includes practicums, a long internship and work with patients through the in-house CURE program. The program holds CAAHEP accreditation, reported as the first graduate program of its kind in Wisconsin to earn it, and publishes student outcome data each year. Prospective students can speak with an admission counselor to learn how the program fits their goals and what the next steps are.
