AA/AS in Accounting and Related Services

Accounting touches every company, nonprofit and public agency, and Chaffey's program trains students for that central role. The college describes the field as demanding yet rewarding. The department offers transfer degrees in business administration, associate degrees in accounting and several certificates. Certificate topics include general accounting, bookkeeping, accounting for public agencies and nonprofits, and payroll and income tax preparation, each with its own program map. Students can join CalCPA and AICPA as student members, which gives them access to national professional resources while they build local connections. Counselors help learners schedule classes by whichever method is convenient, and the accounting faculty coordinate with the wider business department. The associate degree path suits students who want a complete credential in accounting rather than a single-topic certificate.
