Cert in Ground Transportation

Professional truck drivers need a commercial license before they can haul freight, and this certificate is built to get students ready for the licensing process. Training covers both Class A and Class B vehicles, with an emphasis on basic operation of combination vehicles and range work in a controlled setting. Learners who want broader job options can add endorsements for hazardous materials, triple trailers, and double trailers. The course runs for 37 days of instruction, which stretches across roughly six to nine weeks depending on the term and schedule. Cohorts begin several times each semester. Daytime sessions run from early morning into late afternoon, while evening sessions suit people who work during the day, although a Class A evening group is not always offered. Prospective students can attend a virtual information session lasting about an hour to ask questions before applying. Classes meet at the North Metro campus, and graduates pursue positions as commercial truck drivers.
